Macaela and Chance on Super 8 Film

Macaela & Chance | Super 8 Film Flight Session at Bowman Field, Kentucky

There is something timeless about motion captured on film — the flicker, the grain, the way memory feels slightly dreamlike when preserved on celluloid. For Macaela and Chance, that feeling took flight quite literally at Bowman Field in Louisville, Kentucky, where their love story met the sky.

Shot entirely on Super 8 Kodak Vision3 250D, this session embraces the soft, cinematic texture of analog motion picture film. The result is a sequence that feels less like documentation and more like memory unfolding in real time.

A Love Story in Motion at Bowman Field

Bowman Field, one of the oldest continuously operating airports in the United States, provided the perfect backdrop for something as rare and intimate as this session. Small aircraft hummed in the background as golden light moved across the tarmac, wrapping everything in a quiet sense of nostalgia.

Macaela and Chance arrived with ease — no stiffness, no posing that felt forced. Just two people stepping into a moment that already belonged to them.

The setting wasn’t staged. It was alive.

Taking Flight in a Cessna

The heart of the session centered around a Cessna aircraft, where Chance prepared for flight with Macaela by his side. The intimacy of the space — metal, glass, wind, and engine — contrasted beautifully with the softness of their connection.

As the plane taxied at Bowman Field, the Super 8 camera followed in gentle, rhythmic motion. Every frame carries the hum of the engine, the flicker of sunlight across wings, and the unspoken trust between two people about to lift off into open air.

There’s something symbolic about it: love as departure, as trust, as ascent.

Kodak Vision3 250D on Super 8

Shot on Kodak Vision3 250D, the film stock brings a natural daylight palette — soft blues in the sky, warm highlights on skin, and a subtle roll-off that digital rarely replicates. Paired with Super 8’s organic motion, the footage feels textured and honest.

Nothing is overly polished. Everything breathes.

The imperfections are what make it feel real.

The Atmosphere of Bowman Field

Bowman Field adds its own quiet character to the story. Small general aviation aircraft come and go, instructors guide student pilots, and the rhythm of takeoffs and landings creates a steady pulse in the background.

For Macaela and Chance, it became more than a location — it became part of the narrative. A place where motion, trust, and timing all mattered.

A Film That Feels Like Memory

This session isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence.

The wind through the runway. The anticipation before takeoff. The quiet glance between two people who know they’re in the middle of something they’ll never quite be able to repeat.

Super 8 doesn’t just record moments — it transforms them.

And here, at Bowman Field, Macaela and Chance’s story doesn’t feel like it’s being photographed.

It feels like it’s being remembered.

Cincinnati Museum Center Wedding Photography | Corrinne & Billy’s Art Deco Celebration

There are weddings designed to impress, and then there are weddings designed to be remembered.

Corrinne and Billy’s celebration belonged to the second category.

Every decision felt intentional—from welcoming their closest family and friends into the home they’ve lovingly curated together to exchanging vows beneath the iconic Art Deco architecture of the Cincinnati Museum Center. Their wedding wasn’t built around trends or spectacle. Instead, it reflected a life filled with curiosity, creativity, and deep connection.

As documentary wedding photographers serving Cincinnati, Louisville, and destinations beyond, these are the celebrations we’re drawn to—the ones where the story matters just as much as the photographs.

Beginning the Day at Home

Before guests gathered beneath the grand rotunda of the Cincinnati Museum Center, the celebration began somewhere even more meaningful: home.

Stepping inside Corrinne and Billy’s house felt like walking into the pages of a favorite novel. Towering bookshelves stretched from floor to ceiling. Collected artwork, rich color, vintage details, and thoughtful design filled every room without ever feeling staged.

It was a home that told their story long before the wedding day began.

Corrinne possesses an effortless eye for beauty. Every detail—from the table settings to the quiet moments shared with friends—felt intentional without ever becoming overstyled. Billy brought a quiet confidence that balanced the day perfectly, creating an atmosphere where everyone felt completely at ease.

These intimate gatherings often become our favorite moments to photograph because they allow genuine connection to unfold naturally.

A Ceremony Framed by Art Deco Architecture

Few venues offer the architectural presence of the Cincinnati Museum Center.

Originally built in 1933, the landmark’s sweeping curves, geometric details, warm limestone, and soaring ceilings create one of the most visually striking wedding venues in the Midwest. Every hallway, every staircase, and every beam of natural light feels cinematic.

For couples searching for Cincinnati Museum Center wedding photography, it’s difficult to imagine a more timeless backdrop.

Corrinne and Billy exchanged vows surrounded by those who know them best before celebrating inside one of Cincinnati’s most recognizable architectural treasures. The museum’s historic grandeur paired beautifully with the intimacy that defined the entire weekend.

Effortless Style with Timeless Fashion

Corrinne’s wardrobe reflected the elegance of the day while allowing each part of the celebration to have its own personality.

She wore a stunning gown from Luxe Redux Bridal before changing into a beautiful ceremony look by Theia Couture. As the evening unfolded, she slipped into a modern Jenny Yoo dress that invited celebration without sacrificing sophistication.

Billy complemented every look in a perfectly tailored Hugo Boss tuxedo—a timeless choice that echoed the classic architecture surrounding them.

Together, their style felt refined, modern, and completely authentic.

Every Detail Was Thoughtfully Chosen

Rather than overwhelming the day, every creative partner contributed with quiet intention.

Jackson Florist created floral designs that felt organic and elegant. Happy Chicks Bakery crafted desserts that were as beautiful as they were memorable, while Zack Attack Party Band transformed the reception into a joyful celebration that kept guests dancing late into the evening.

Nothing competed for attention. Everything worked together.

Cincinnati Museum Center Wedding Photographer

The Cincinnati Museum Center continues to be one of our favorite venues for wedding photography because it offers something increasingly rare—architecture with permanence.

Long after trends fade, photographs made within these historic spaces continue to feel timeless.

Whether documenting intimate gatherings inside a couple’s home or grand celebrations beneath one of Cincinnati’s most iconic skylines, our approach remains the same: honest storytelling, thoughtful composition, and preserving moments exactly as they felt.

If you’re planning a wedding at the Cincinnati Museum Center or searching for a Cincinnati wedding photographer who values authentic moments over perfect poses, we’d love to tell your story.

Kentucky State Derby Weekend at Churchill Downs

Derby weekend

Kentucky Derby Weekend at Churchill Downs | Louisville Event Photography & Super 8 Wedding Films

There’s nothing quite like the excitement of the Kentucky Derby. Every spring, thousands of visitors travel to Churchill Downs for one of the most iconic sporting events in the world, where Southern tradition, high fashion, and unforgettable celebrations come together in the heart of Louisville.

This Derby season, we had the opportunity to work with Original Makers, documenting the energy and atmosphere of Derby weekend through both digital photography and authentic Super 8 film. From the excitement inside Churchill Downs to exclusive hospitality events throughout downtown Louisville, every location offered its own unique story.

Inside Churchill Downs, we photographed guests enjoying the electric atmosphere of race day, capturing everything from classic Derby fashion and emotional race moments to the timeless traditions that make the Kentucky Derby one of the world’s most celebrated events. Every image focused on authentic storytelling, preserving both the grandeur of the event and the candid moments that make Derby weekend so memorable.

Beyond the track, we documented celebrations at the Rose Lounge and the Equestrian Club, where guests experienced luxury hospitality, live entertainment, and elevated Derby experiences. These exclusive spaces showcased elegant décor, signature cocktails, and vibrant social gatherings that perfectly captured the spirit of Derby weekend in Louisville.

We also spent time at Hotel Bourré Bonne, creating both digital imagery and a nostalgic Super 8 film that highlighted the hotel’s atmosphere throughout Derby festivities. The timeless texture of Super 8 added an emotional, cinematic quality that beautifully complemented the polished look of digital photography, creating a gallery and film that felt both modern and nostalgic.

Combining digital photography with Super 8 film allows us to preserve events in a way that feels authentic and lasting. Digital captures every detail with clarity, while Super 8 adds movement, texture, and emotion that instantly transports viewers back to the experience. Together, they create visual storytelling that feels timeless.

Whether you’re planning a Kentucky Derby event, a luxury brand activation, a corporate gathering, or a private celebration in Louisville, combining documentary photography with Super 8 film creates a one-of-a-kind visual record that stands apart. Derby weekend is more than a horse race—it’s an experience built on tradition, style, and unforgettable moments, and we’re honored to help preserve those stories for years to come.

If you’re searching for a Louisville event photographer, Kentucky Derby photographer, Churchill Downs photographer, or Super 8 event videographer in Louisville, Kentucky, we’d love to tell your story with imagery that feels timeless, cinematic, and genuinely unforgettable.

Romantic River Side Photos At Golden Hour

Fall of the Ohio State Park In Clarksville, Indiana

Garrett & Olivia’s engagement photos were so much fun for a number of reasons one being that they were an adventurous couple who were willing to crawl over boulders to get the shot! We love couples that are down for the shots! It makes it real when raw emotions are at play and when we are all having fun.

For this engagement session it was a treat to us personally because Josh has known Garrett since they were kids so getting to do this shoot was a blast. Garett has found himself a stunning women. Seriously, Olivia couldn’t have been more comfortable in front of the camera and it shows. Congratulations, to them both on the engagement and near wedding!

The Falls of the Ohio State Park was an absolutely beautiful location. Located across the river from Louisville, KY in Clarksville, Indiana. Olivia was a trooper walking in heels over the some what treacherous terrain and we are grateful, because the results speak for themselves in these romantic river side photos at sunset.

To anyone else interested in this location keep in mind the terrain and the tide. This location only works when the rain fall hasn’t been heavy. And bonus pack some extra shoes for boulder climbing!
